Christmas time consists of much joy and cheer; from Santa in the North Pole to presents under the tree. For me, includes heading up North to pick up my children coming home for Christmas.

Working from home has meant people often work longer, at sub-optimal work stations and without the upbeat office camaraderie. However, more importantly for me, without wearing shoes or a bra in some cases (I was going to entitle this post ‘T*ts and Toes’!). This has contributed to a lot of neck pain, shoulder pain, and lumbar pain this Autumn in the clinic.

Let’s think about looking North for Christmas. If you wear slippers all day, check if your feet roll in. This affects your whole posture, especially putting strain on your pelvis, knees, and back. If you don’t wear a bra, things definitely don’t go North and strains occur, often becoming chronic. Learning to breathe better and think more mindfully works for head posture and neck pain as well as emotional wellbeing.

Oxspines Osteopathy can help with all of this, including IRest Meditation to help you on your way back up North. Where are you heading this Christmas?
